Anna's basketball journey began in Niagara, Wisconsin where as a freshmen she burst on the scene averaging 19.1 points per game. She ended her high school career scoring 25.8 points per game while having reached double figures in every high school game she ever played (101 games total). She led her team to the state tournament as a junior and senior where they finished second both years going a combined 49-5. Anna led Division 4 state tournament players in both scoring and rebounding while being named to the All-State tournament team both years. Anna received All-State recognition as a junior and as a senior in 1994 she earned 1st Team All-State recognition by the Associated Press and the Milwaukee Journal. She was also selected as the WBCA Miss Basketball, USA TODAY'S Wisconsin's Player of the Year and was the only high school recipient of the Milwaukee Athletic Club's Founder's Award. Not only did Anna end her high school career with a then state female scoring record of 2,601 points (which is currently third in state history), she was inducted into the WBCA Hall of Fame in 2014 and is recognized as one of the most decorated female athletes in Wisconsin.
